Submission Categories
Policy Briefs
A Policy Brief is a concise article that presents objective summaries, analytical insights, and actionable policy measures concerning a public policy issue.
Authors must use the Chicago Author-Date referencing (in-text citations plus a reference list). Endnotes may be included when necessary.
Submissions should be written in clear, accessible language so that it is understood by the general audience and may include graphics and tables for better comprehension.
Word count: 1,200 – 1,600 words (excluding references).

Commentaries
A commentary provides an objective analysis of political, economic, or policy developments and the broader trends shaping global discourse.
Submissions should be analytical, non-partisan, and grounded in empirical and/or theoretical evidence.
Reference list and endnotes are not required; however, in-text citations using the Chicago Author-Date style and hyperlinks are mandatory.
Word count: 1,000 – 1,500 words.

We publish contributions from both experts and students/early-career individuals, and each publication clearly indicates the author’s background to maintain transparency.

Submission Guidelines
- Submit your work as an editable Word Document (.doc/.docx).
- Use the Roboto font, size 12, line spacing 1.3, and justified alignment.
- Use British English spelling and grammar conventions.
- Avoid unnecessary technical jargon, biased opinions, and exclusionary or discriminatory terms.
- Maintain a neutral, analytical, and professional tone.
- Ensure to uphold the principles of research integrity and accuracy.
- Follow the Chicago Author-Date referencing style.
- Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. If AI-generated content, data, or images are used in any part of research, it must be clearly declared.
- Use copyright-free images from verifiable sources, and mention the source below the visual in italics, followed by an endnote.

- Email Body: Include a brief introduction to your topic and a short bio with your full name, institutional affiliation, region, current work, and research interests. Please also state if you are submitting your work under the Early-Career to Expert category.
Review and Editorial Process
All submissions will undergo an internal editorial review to ensure clarity and adherence to Hegemoniq’s research and writing conventions. Reviews are conducted by our research team, with guidance from advisors where appropriate.
We are committed to a transparent, rigorous publication process and are developing a formal peer-review system. This will be implemented as our organisational capacity grows, and authors will be immediately notified.
Note that feedback or revisions (if required) will be provided using Track Changes and sent back to the author for approval. Author details will be published as submitted, without modification.
Lastly, as we are still a growing team, allow us 2-3 weeks for review and publication. This timeline may vary depending on the volume of submissions and the number of revisions required.
