Context of the Interview
Bangladesh is currently undergoing a period of significant political and economic turmoil, with shifting power dynamics and rising concerns about governance, media freedom, and foreign influence. In this exclusive interview, Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury, an award-winning journalist and editor of Blitz, shares his insights on the unfolding crisis, the role of key political figures, and the broader geopolitical implications for the region. His perspectives offer a critical look at the challenges facing Bangladesh today.

Question: Bangladesh is currently experiencing significant political turmoil. How would you describe the present situation, and what do you think are the key factors driving this instability?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: Bangladesh currently is facing the toughest-ever challenges it had faced since independence in 1971, as our country’s sovereignty is at risk. Key reason behind the current crisis is our political leader’s – from Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to Sheikh Hasina as well as those military rulers and Islamist forces who also came to power have been nurturing and promoting political Islam under the garb of democracy or military rule. Sheikh Hasina, for example, who proclaims to be the icon of democracy and secularism too was disturbingly indulged into promoting political Islam and even jihadism. She was one of the top-most female leaders who had extended support to Palestinians and Hamas and regularly demonized Israel and Jews. In my opinion, political Islam is the key culprit behind today’s crisis in Bangladesh.
Question: Bangladesh is witnessing a systematic effort to erase the historical legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Why do you think altering history is necessary for Muhammad Yunus, especially considering he holds no constitutional position but only serves as an advisor?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: Muhammad Yunus is a pure Islamofascist who has successfully fooled the enter world – including Western policymakers wearing a mask of a noble individual. In reality, he always has been a greedy, immoral and advantage-seeking entity. Now, following ouster of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, 2024 through Jihadist Coup, which was orchestrated jointly by Yunus, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, George and Alexander Soros, US Deep State and the United Nations. Muhammad Yunus considers the situation to be extremely beneficial for him in making billions od dollars by selling every resource of the country and finally turn Bangladesh into a Caliphate and flee. The reason behind agenda of Yunus to erase the historical legacy of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is – Yunus is his cronies are purely against the independence of Bangladesh. Since they have extreme romance with Pakistan, Pakistan Army and its notorious spy agency – ISI, Yunus and his gang are frantically attempting to ultimately wipe-off the very name of Bangladesh from the global map and turn it into a Caliphate under direct command of Pakistan.

Question: After a long period of economic prosperity under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership, Bangladesh is now facing an economic downturn. In your view, what steps should be taken to restore investor confidence and put Bangladesh back on track to achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2041?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: To restore confidence of foreign investors and the international community, Bangladesh must return to democracy by ending the current illegal Islamofascism. Unless it is done forthwith, Bangladesh may ultimately become another Afghanistan or Pakistan.
Question: In one of your recent tweets, you referred to Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus as an ‘Islamofascist’ and an ‘anti-liberation entity.’ How do you justify these statements?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: MuhammadYunus is patronizing Islamists and jihadists, while he is continuing extreme form of cruelty and fascism targeting secularist and anti-jihadist forces in Bangladesh. Purely, he is an Islamofascist as well as an anti-liberation entity.
Question: Historically, India has played a crucial role in the liberation of Bangladesh and has maintained close ties with the country. How do you see the current state of India-Bangladesh relations, and do you think the interim government under Muhammad Yunus is trying to shift Bangladesh’s foreign policy away from India?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: First of all, Bangladesh’s bondage with India is natural, which can never be changed by anyone. Yunus, being an Islamofascist and enemy of the Bengalis has already turned the country into a hellish inferno for Hindus, religious minorities and Bengalis. His agenda is to turn Bangladesh into a Pakistan-controlled Caliphate or a vassal state of Islamabad. Now he also is trying to reach into secret agreements with China by taking large sum of financial benefit and let the country go under China’s dominance, thus turning Bangladesh into a potential security threat to India and the region.
Question: In the name of countering disinformation, the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus appears to be suppressing media freedom. What is your take on this?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: Yunus clearly is against freedom of press and freedom of expression. He is today’s top-jailer of journalists – much worse than Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Illegal Yunus regime has pushed dozens of journalists into prison by bringing false murder charges. This is unprecedented. It even did not happen in Hitler’s Nazi Germany, Iran or neo-Nazi Volodymyr Zelensky’s Ukraine.
Question: Now, let me ask you something that piques my personal curiosity. In your opinion, what gives Muhammad Yunus the confidence to act against the country’s constitution and take the vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’ for granted? Do you believe there are external forces supporting him in this?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: Yunus was installed into power through Jihadist Coup by Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, George and Alexander Soros, US Deep State and the United Nations. Till date, he enjoys support from the United Nations and many of the Democratic Party leaders as well as Trump-haters in the West.
Question: Geopolitically, Bangladesh sits at a strategic location, drawing interest from regional and global powers. With growing Chinese influence in the Bay of Bengal and India’s concerns over security and connectivity, where do you see Bangladesh positioning itself in this shifting geopolitical landscape?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: Bangladesh currently is moving towards a very dangerous position with growing influence of Pakistan and China, which will definitely pose serious security threat to India and other nations in the region.

Question: Lastly, as an award-winning journalist and editor of Blitz, what message would you like to convey to the people of Bangladesh in these turbulent times?
Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury: People in Bangladesh, by and large are pro-liberation and they also are against political or radical Islam. As they also now realize – Muhammad Yunus is a monstrous individual with no love for the country, it is their responsibility to raise voice. In this case, people need support from the political forces, such as Awami League, as it is one of the largest political parties in the country. Unfortunately, following August 5 Jihadist Coup, Awami League has gone underground. This party even does not have any spokesperson, while most of the top-leaders are living in India and other countries as fugitives. Sheikh Hasina’s bad luck is – she mostly has looters, thieves and dacoits in Awami League’s leadership. Unless Sheikh Hasina realizes this bitter reality – make massive reshuffle in the party and immediately appoint a spokesperson – even from exile, people of Bangladesh may continue to suffer from the current illegal rule of Islamofascist Muhammad Yunus.
Conclusing remark by Interviewer, Nayan Jyoti Kalita:
