Nayan Jyoti Kalita – Founder of HegemonIQ

Who is Nayan Jyoti Kalita?

I am Nayan Jyoti Kalita, a passionate researcher, writer, and founder of HegemonIQ, a think tank startup dedicated to Geopolitics, Indian Government & Policy, and Policymaking.

Born and raised in Assam, India, I have always been fascinated by global affairs, power structures, and strategic policymaking. This curiosity led me to create HegemonIQ, a platform that aspires to become a globally recognized think tank from India by 2030.

Nayan Jyoti Kalita’s Academic Background

I completed my Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) from Cotton University, Assam. While my graduation subject is rooted in technology, my true passion lies in geopolitics, a field I discovered during my university days.

Despite not having a formal degree in International Relations or Policy Analysis yet, I believe in self-driven knowledge-building. As John Nash once said:

“Classes destroy a beautiful mind.”

Instead of restricting myself to classroom learning, I have dedicated myself to deep research in geopolitics, diplomacy, and policy analysis, ensuring that my understanding is unrestricted and insightful.

Why I Created HegemonIQ?

I wanted to build a platform that bridges intellectual discourse and real-world policymaking. I strongly believe that India—and especially Northeast India—needs a louder voice in global discussions.

With HegemonIQ, I aim to:

Bring India’s strategic concerns into mainstream global discourse.

Focus on India’s role in World Politics, particularly in the Indo-Pacific.

Provide in-depth geopolitical research and policy analysis that can contribute to serious discussions in academia and policymaking circles.

My Areas of Interest

Over time, my research has focused on:

India’s Foreign Policy & Strategic Interests

The Indo-Pacific & Indian Ocean Region

Policy Analysis & Global Governance

Apart from writing articles, I am also working on a book on geopolitics in the Indian Ocean, a topic that has fascinated me for years.

The Vision of Nayan Jyoti Kalita

Looking ahead, I have set clear goals for both myself and HegemonIQ:

Expand HegemonIQ into a widely recognized think tank.

Collaborate with policymakers, professors, and experts to enhance the quality of discourse.

Publish more research-driven articles and books on geopolitics and policy analysis.

Ensure that Northeast India has a strong presence in India’s strategic and foreign policy debates.
